I’m always thinking about the mystery of art and why it is important to us.  Every so often I will come across something that advances my understanding.  Kenneth Baker, the art critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, wrote the following in an article in the September 22, 2007, edition and I copied it down because it resonated with me – here is what he said:

“We reasonably demand that a contemporary painting invite and withstand prolonged scrutiny.  It ought to hold the promise of surprise even after many encounters.”

Here is a recent painting that I did.  The title is “Sunspots” and it is acrylic on canvas, 30″ x 24″, in a black floater frame.  I have priced it at $500.00.
