Ayers Rock is located in the middle of Australia.  It is one of the world’s largest monoliths.  The Aboriginal name is Uluru.  The intriguing sculpted shapes, valleys and ridges, caves, potholes and plunge pools are the result of millions of years of erosion.  The Aboriginal people have lived in the area for at least 10,000 years.

I am grateful to my colleague, photographer Maggie Graham, who allowed me to use her photograph of Ayers Rock as my primary reference.

I used pastel as my medium and the price for this painting is $400.00.  It is matted and framed and measures 26″ x 20″.
